Worth it to remove bloatware?

Well i just got this replacement. My original phone was basically folded by some weights. There are tons of stuff on here that i will never use. But i can not remove them... root then boot them?

This thing does not let me search very well. Sorry if this was asked before.

I don't think it's worth it just to clean out the bloatware. Almost all of it is sitting there dormant as far as I know and not eating RAM or CPU cycles. Now if you were gonna root anyway then might as well as it'll clean up some storage space.

You could simply disable a lot of what you aren't using, most of the bloatware can be disabled by long pressing on it, going up to the remove area and then app info. You may have to uninstall the updates, then do this again to disable.

Some things like the flicka app do not have the disable button highlighted. What do i do about those? Do i even have to worry about them?

Nah...I've had a lot of crapware still on..but never use. Disable the ones you can and don't worry about the ones you can't.

I disagree with the qualification that if you want it clean you have to be able to restore via rsd lite if you need to ota. Use a root browser to delete the vendors directory in apps. That will get 90% +

I'm probably going to root sooner or later, anyway (haven't yet) just to be able to use apps that require root, but as of the Christmas Eve JellyBean leak, I have no reason to worry about battery life or other performance issues, which is why I hear getting rid of "bloatware" is ideal. I'm in no rush. In fact, what I did was created program groups for all of my applications (i.e. Shopping, Tools, Adult, Kid-Friendly, Chat).

I use folders for everything and run nova 7 screens wide....might flash xmas jb this weekend..the 211 radios blow. This maxx aint s#|7 compared to my blurry bionic.

Thanks for that tip CYBERTJ.2000. I didn't know that was possible. I was going to Root, Backup, Freeze, etc. This was so much easier, I was just sick of VZ NAV launching every time I was in the vehicle. Pain in the ass. I appreciated the tip.
