Email Icon!??

sorry this is probably a dumb question, but I just got the Maxx a couple of days ago, and ive noticed my Email Icon doesnt show the number of new emails that I have recieved? Is there a way to change the settings? ive had no luck...so i figured this was the best place to ask?? I understand that it will tell me how many emails or voicemails or texts i have when i pull down the notifications bar, but I loved that feature on my HTC Incredible? Its just a small nuisance...I didnt know if there was an app or a setting to change it? THanks everyone in advance! this place is awesome!

I agree, it is a convenient feature. There are apps and launchers that will allow you to display the email count for the email of your choice. I use Nova paid version (I don't think the free version of Nova is able to do email, text and call count though).

I believe the stock launcher also gives a count of your Gmail mail but not for other emails but not totally sure because I'm not using the stock launcher. Maybe others can chime in on what they use to activate this feature.

Edit: and ps, there are no dumb questions on Droid Forums. We all learn from even the most basic questions and your question was definitely worth asking. I'm looking forward to finding out what others are using.

Oops!

I get a count on Email but not Gmail. Gmail flashes green light and is in notification drop down.

I have never seen a count on either the stock email or the gmail icon, but both have always been set up to show new emails in the notification area.
For fun, last night I set my stock email to NOT show up in the notification area to see if a count would show up on the icon, and it does not.
I am running GB. 211

Yes, I believe it is $4, although there is the free version. You can look at Go Launcher (free), Apex and Atom launchers also.

Weird. Cause when i pull down the notification bar. I see my email account and all the way over on the right very small is the count of new emails. This is the stock emailer. Gmail does not show count

I do show unread count on the right side of the notification bar, but the OP was asking about a count on the E-mail icon on the screen.....
