Fast way to get to the camera?

Is there a faster way to get to the camera? A shortcut? Less key strokes?

Faster than what? Opening the app drawer?

I can go straight to the camera from my lockscreen as well as straight to the camera from my homescreen. You can just add a shortcut to your homescreen by long pressing it in the app drawer, and then you'll have the option to place it on your homescreen. I use WidgetLocker for my lockscreen, and with that app, I can create quick access to pretty much anything from the lockscreen.

I just noticed that when I wake the phone I can either unlock the phone or slide the opposite way and get to the camera. Thanks for helping me look a little harder.

Yeah I'm hoping they don't screw up that function with ics. It's so nice being able to just whip out the phone and whammo, there's the camera.

Also in settings under applications, at the very bottom of that menu you can set any app you want to launch by double tapping the home button. I have mine set to camera so that no matter what home screen I'm on, I can quickly start the camera.

*LOL* With all the updates the Bionic has received, don't understand why they never gave us this function. Ours still has the slide to unlock thing on the left, and the slide to silence phone on the right. Nothing in the middle. Of course, we're still stuck on Android 2.3.4; when Moto could have easily updated us to 2.3.6 - sometimes I swear that company is run by a bunch of mentally deficient chimpanzees.

EDIT: To clarify, it's very stupid of them to have 2 very similar phones running such dissimilar software. Would make it easier on themselves if they would unify the builds. The 2 devices could probably run the exact same OS with some minor kernel tweaks between them for setting the CPU speed.

just curious to see if you guys use the stock camera? or if there's a camera on the market that is noticeably better? i used Camera ZOOM FX on my Fascinate because I thought it was better than the stock, but on my Maxx, seems like stock is just fine

I hope ICS speeds up the delay opening certain things. I know for one, I could use the camera when doing onsite social engineering for my job, but I feel as though the camera takes the absolute longest to load. I really don't have time to wait 5-10 secs from lock screen + unlocking phone (camera requires you to unlock) + app finally loading in most cases and do not want to have to bring around another camera for faster access.

I get to the camera from the lock screen or I have it on my dock.
