While a sticky would be helpful, I think a battery sub-forum somewhere within this site would be better. These problems and the associated threads aren't limited to the Razr/Maxx.

I'd read through those already as I poured through several sites as well before I called this an issue.

I'll read them again for good measure. I got mine through a store and my friend got hers through the mail from VZW. Can't believe both are defective, bit we do use similar apps as I'm her Android guy set her phone up. She really has very little on her phone.

4G is 2 bars and is left on.
Screen is all the way down.
And apps/usage are as described above. I'll read more. Thank you for the comments. I will look at the "bad ass battery monitor" if it will detail stuff more.

Sadly, I'm thinking Bionic is a possible if I don't get somewhere. I have a few more days to decide I suppose. Seems like most everyone is doing great with these but me and her lol..

Only having 2 bars of 4g is something that would cause you to eat battery.

Are you using the task manager? How about smart actions: battery saver?

    DROID RAZR MAXXIMIZED!!!!

Also if you have the maxx, and go to a bionic, you'll really wonder what happened to your battery.

Try the battery monitor calibration trick, then charge your phone at night powered off, see what happens.

Yeah, I know the Bionic will suck worse as well. However I can buy a couple extended batteries, and swap them out as the day goes as I do with my DX. I work in a large Casino a lot and I'm away from power all day. Can't sit and charge for 3+ hrs. I usually just swap batteries. Was hoping this Razr would last but.... We'll see. Maybe I'm missing something...

No not using task mgr of battery saver.

I may be wrong here but, I bought it to give me background data when it comes. K9 / Gmail Emails polling and getting them when they come. That would be basically what a battery saver would do right?

2 bars of 4G would be a problem huh? Not good. I wondered if it searching would be an issue.

I'm going to start using a 4G toggle to only use 4G it when I need it and see if that helps. Just DLd Bad Ass Monitor and will see what it generates for me.

    Thanks for your thoughts again

As for the charging all night w/power off... I'm on call, have to have communication. I read that you could just charge turned off every week or so and that would work. Your thoughts?

Yes the battery saver will stop sync, but the second you wake up your phone, it will pull down anything that's waiting. And the battery saver would make your phone last all day.

Glad I could give a little assistance.

As for the Calibration, actually you can do it every 3-4 months for the maxx, 2-3 months for the RAZR.

But its thought that there are parasitic effects on your battery when charging while powered on. You may show 100% battery and infact you may have 70-80%.

I understand the on call issue. My advice would be to charge overnight powered off when you can.

Some people notice a difference from this, I myself do. While others say it makes no difference to them.

Running CDMA only will increase your battery as well.

You may see a difference after doing a full charge with power off, use til 15% then another full charge with power off and also to get the 4g toggle to turn off 4g unless you really need it (the phone really does suck a lot of battery switching back & forth between 3g & 4g especially when it is a weak 4g signal) but in addition, if you felt you wanted the extra security of extending your battery there is some sort of battery booster thing that you plug your phone into. I'm not exactly sure what it is called or exactly how it works but I know FoxKat uses one and swears by it. (I bet he will chime in any time to explain exactly what it is). Anyway, that may be a better option for you than getting a bionic with a couple extended batteries.

Light use today but on heavy days I still last all day with no worries. 4g on all the time, no smart actions, wifi, gps, and everything on. Not sure whats going on with yours. Download " badass " battery monitor and see if some app is draining your battery. Yiu should be getting better than what you stated.
