Picture Gallery and SD card??

I am really confused and not even sure where to start with this other than explaining the timeline of events...

Last night I was showing a friend some of our wedding pictures that I copied from my computer to my DX SD card, then from my SD card to my computer to my Maxx SD card. (Basically when I got the maxx I copied my pictures and music and moved them to the new SD card) All my pictures are visible in the '3D Gallery' app, however the heads are all cut off or cropped. I can see the thumbnail in the 'My Gallery' app but can not view them full sized. In both 'ES file explorer' and 'my files' apps on the phone I can't locate the files/file path...

I plugged the phone into the computer as mass storage and I can't find the music or the pictures. They exist somewhere!!

I've had good luck using a free app called SD Rescan. Simple to use. Does what it says and allows the phone a chance to find what is not showing up.

That updates the gallery. I am not having an issue not seeing the pics in the gallery, I can't see them on the SD card or on the internal memory (and I know I loaded them on the SD card) and when viewing them it chops off part of the picture.

Is there some form of bloatware on the maxx that may have uploaded them to a cloud site or something that I didnt realize I set up?

Es File Explorer, My Files and connected to the computer... I did notice something new.. I have several different categories of pictures that are shown in the 3D Gallery half the categories have a lil file folder in the corner and half of them have like a lil recycle looking triangle... the ones with the folders there is a path on the SD card but I can't copy them over to the PC, on the triangle ones there is no path the details say location unknown.

I know I did not set up MotoCast or Google Cloud.

Even if you did setup 1 of those services it wouldn't delete your pics..
Are you looking in sdcard or sdcard-ext?

Both... I removed the SD card (which is where I think I transferred them to in the first place) and they are still visible in the 3d gallery with the lil triangle and unknown file location.

I readded the pictures (same as I did the first time) and they are in fact on the SD card with a lil folder icon...

One more thing.. when you moved them what path are they? Did you just put in sdcard or in a folder there?

Try moving to the folder: sdcard/media/ or sdcard-ext/media
Media should be there already.

Edit:
Now go to settings/manage applications/ locate the "my gallery app" and clear data.. reboot phone

I don't understand... I can't move the ones with the lil triangles. There is no file path - I have searched SD and SD ext. its like they are ghost images that I can view cropped portions of.

When I re-added the same pictures on to the external SD card. They appear normal with a file folder icon, file path, not cropped.
