Razr maxx 2.3.6 - rooted

Been looking around for a solid root after I did an OTA update from 2.3.5 - 2.3.6 and I lost root access to my RAZR.

Found this and ran it and it worked perfectly

Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode, attach it to your PC, ensure you have the latest Motorola drivers installed, extract the entire zip file, and execute “run.bat”.

I think that you should also make sure to extract the zip file for the root program on the windows desktop for it to work correctly.

When I first connected my phone to my computer, my computer automatically downloaded the drivers

I finally bit the bullet and rooted my maxx using this method. Is there anything else I need to get to take advantage of this?

How would you go about Unrooting your phone when the OTA update comes out?

Sorry for the newbie question.....

What EXACTLY does a rooted smartphone do or do better than a non-rooted one? Would the "average" user see a difference or benefit? Is the processing speed so much better?

When you root you can change roms, and use different apps that let you control the cpu, take screen shots and much more, I've rooted one other phone the Droid 2 but I used a easy root program that would root and unroot for you. nervous about doing it with my maxx because I know somethings have changed and I haven't read enough (which I don't think you can ever do)
