    Here are my thoughts:

Build quality: RAZR MAXX HD (nothing I repeat nothing has a better overall build than this baby. Nothing)

Radio "Reception": RAZR MAXX HD (as always motor rules the airwaves with the radios even does 3g and voice simultaneously)

Screen quality "Resolution": RAZR MAXX HD (was almost a tie with the sgs3 but the blacks and colors just popped on the RAZR)

OS: Note 2 (Only reason is because its running Jelly Bean with project butter and it shows, I prefer Motos close to vanilla Blur over touchwiz any day but the way touchwiz with JB works on the Note 2 is pretty intuitive. Not so much on the sgs3 but then again the MAXX and the sgs3 are due any day now for JB updates, and when the MAXX HD gets its JB update then whoo hoo, this phone will be a hard one to beat even in the 2013 smartphone market.

Camera: Honestly... jury's out. (I'm still putting the RAZR MAXX HD through its paces and I think there is more to this camera than meets the eye. No doubt the sgs3 is a clear winner in the camera department I want to spend some more time with the camera on this phone)

Keyboard: RAZR MAXX HD (as well all know the sgs3 keyboard is horrible but the Note 2 was a close runner up with their iteration of the Jelly Bean touchwiz masked keyboard, Moto's ics keyboard just worked, I am writing this comparison with the RAZR for a reason)

Overall Speed: TIE- RAZR MAXX HD and Note 2. (The RAZR MAXX HD screams and so does the Note 2 but the difference will be in to what the carrier does to the Note 2. If Verizon leaves the Note 2 alone in the processor and bloat ware department then the Note 2 will be a formidable phone but if Verizon goes the sgs3 route then forget it)

End notes. With all the smartphone technology coming to a head we have many choices. The android race has taken a very long step into another dimension of speed and smoothness that has not been achievable in the past. Android has now become a world class smartphone operating system. The next frontier is the android skinned operating system. Do you want a customized os experience or a true android os experience. I think that Moto and Samsung are going to be the two major android players at this game and it shows, the only issue I have with touchwiz is too many gimmicky confusing options. Android has enough options as it is, there is going to be a point where less is more case in Point Apples iOS.

These are my opinions with having all three of these devices on hand and running them side by side.

So what are your thoughts? Anything to add? Any questions? Shoot away.
This makes me happy to hear. I was pretty set on Maxx HD (first smartphone was DX, loved it!) then heard about Note II and was having second thoughts about both it and the GS3. Going to stick with my gut and go with the Maxx HD.

And also when u compare OS, u have the N2 as the winner but go on to say things might change when the HD gets JB. So i guess what im lost on is how could it even compare to the in depth things the N2 can do, like multi window function, all the stylus options and so on, to be able to compare the HD must be beasting. Just wondering is all, im a huge Moto fan but the Note 2 just seems like the better choice so not cutting Moto down at all. Thanks

@Incremental: As i can see you have been following my posts on the Note 2 on that forum and I have nothing but fabulous things to say about it as it most definitely is a ground breaking device.

Now when I say ground breaking device i mean just that. It is ground breaking for its own place in the "Phablet" market. There are no Phablet market players other than the OG Note and the LG Intuition (which is a flop. So this Note 2 is indeed breaking new ground for that market and creating the benchmark.

I absolutely unequivocally love the note 2 as a "Phablet". As someone that runs their business & life for that matter from there smartphone pocketablilty (i invented that word) and usability are key. Unfortunately the Note 2 falls short at those two things. I like to take notes and I like to use my smartphone as a telephone and messaging device for SMS and emails.

The Note 2 is fantastic for taking hand written notes if that's your thing but it just takes too much time to pull it out then flip the cover then pull the stylus out etc etc.. You see... when you get a ground breaking device in your hands for the first time you are in awe of it and all the new features and its this amazing magical thing. It's when you use this ground breaking device for a few days and put it into your work flow you see its real usability.

For me the battery life, radios, simple android skin and screen resolution fit me well. I'm used to the Moto ecosystem and know it well. I always said to myself when I had my OG RAZR MAXX "if only this thing had a nicer screen and slightly better build quality it would be the best" and the RAZR MAXX HD is the answer.

The Note 2 fills a gap. Its a niche device plain and simple. The MAXX HD is like a tool that gets its job done everyday no matter what.

I'll be curious about your take on the camera. It appears to be identical to the camera / software on the M - which was inconsistent at best. Fast, and can take great shots in extremely well lit (especially natural light) situations, but very inconsistent in oddly lit, or darker situations - at times crashing altogether if you tried to do too many flash shots too quickly.

That seems to be my experience.

I think the capability is due to the Snapdragon S4 chipset. The GS3 can do this too.

It's a tough decision, the Note 2 could *possibly* come out around the 25th, so if you bought a MAXX HD now then you will have through the end of the month, but if for some reason the Note 2 doesn't come out in time, then you're either stuck with it, or you return it in hopes that the Note 2 is awesome.

I may swing by Verizon to test it out, but I'm nervous I'll impulsively buy it!

I ordered from the wirefly web site (not over the phone) and it let me pick and option to keep my existing plan. It's on my confirmation email so it looks like it stuck. This was also only $200 for the Maxx HD. It's an intro special price - I'm not sure how long they will offer it. They have the Razr M for $50 and the regular Razr HD for $150. Yeah, prices are good for upgrades too. I'm upgrading from a Droid X. The only downside really is it will not ship until probably Monday. The shipping is free and they use FedEx so that's cool.

Thanks for ur reply. I guess my problem is the HD just doesn't seem to be worthy for a upgrade from a Bionic as opposed to the N2 or any quad core high end phone. That's my only issue with it.

I went and played with one last night and felt it wasn't quite worth $800 ( phone, case screen protection and tax) no regrets not buying it. I will search Craigslist etc. For a gently used one.

I assume you have unlimited? I wonder if this will actually work or not. If that worked...I would be buying from wirefly . But I have a feeling Verizon will not accept that.
