    Failing Micro SD Cards?

Is anyone else having this problem with the XT907?

I purchased a 32gig MicroSD from Sandisk (class10) a few months back and it worked great for about 3 weeks. I use at as a storage for my music so I could get rid of my old iTouch.

About 3 weeks in the card just became completely unreadable in the phone or using an SD adapter in any computer. Literally died... I was lucky enough to have a very kind seller on Amazon that offered to replace it for free with another. Again, all worked great for about 2 weeks. This morning I went to listen to music and every file it said it could not open. It then started recommending I format the card. I obliged (grudgingly, it takes several hours to copy 32 gigs of music) now it just says the file format is not supported after clearing the card.

I'm torn now on if the cause is my phone or this particular card from Sandisk. I'm hesitating on purchasing another $40 microSD card if this is something that could continue...

Has anyone else heard of this or know of any troubleshooting I can try? The phone is only a few months old now and was new at purchase from Verizon.

    Thank you!

Like to know also. Is there a capacity/size limitation also?

Its because this phone has problems with class 10 SD cards. It's not that your SD cards are faulty at all. It's happened to me and your explanation of the failure is exactly how it happens. Get a class 4 or class 6 card. They are a bit harder to find in 32gb but it can be done and you won't have anymore problems.

Previous Motorola Droid X would do the same thing. Never figured out why.

    Update:

The second card I bought started working after I reseated it for a few weeks. Now it's only displaying that I have one artist in my music library (Boards of Canada everytime lol) and if I try to go to storage settings it crashes and has to exit every time...

Here I was thinking the class 10 would be a good idea, I guess I'll try a 6 or something and see if the problems persist. Thanks war88.

I'm having the same problem that you describe, Karcist. I'm on my second micro SD card, which just failed. This one is a class 4 (Transcend Micro). The first one was a SanDisk, class 10. Since this was posted in March, I wonder if you've had any success or ideas since. I'm bummed, because this card had a lot of photos/video of my kids that I hadn't had a chance to back up recently.
