Haha. Josh made me spit my drink. I'd like it again if I could.

Haha! I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if he understands that people are talking about the NON dev phone being rooted. I know the dev one is already done thanks to P3Droid. But the regular M is not rooted nor being worked on from what I can find. No one wants to do it anymore. I guess root is only for the rich who can buy each $600 phone that comes out now.
I'll help out any way I can! That's what Android is all about.

I understand the crowd. I have the regular m. Wasn't gonna drop $600 on a dev phone. Ha

Well if you unlocked your reg m, please pass the links along so we can do it too. But from what I have found, its not possible.

Some potentially encouraging info... this was posted this evening in a thread at XDA asking specifically about rooting the retail M.

Well that's hope full. But not the best info for me. I just updated my m to jellybean to see if the leak had any vulnerabilities. And the fastboot sbf process back to ICS is very shady. But well just have to wait and see.

I fastbooted back with the fxz that was released over the weekend and it worked fine. Per mattlgroff, had to take the getvar command line out of the xml file, then rsdlite 5.9 ran it perfectly. Just ran it this afternoon.

Can't guarantee it won't blow your phone up, but it worked for me.

Awesome. Thanks. jellybean was smoother. But I still want to go back and try at the bootloader again.

Good to see Dr. Bliss hasn't quit on motorola just yet. This puts the Razr HD back in the running for my next phone.
