I ask bcause there have been debates as to vzw not honoring insurance if not purchased from them. Yet my last 3 purchased phones have been other than vzw purchase and they are steady charging me that insurance premium..

    Thanks

I am :sly: fear my blade!
Really? Well I bought my phone from craiglist and I told the guy at the verizon store that. Yet he still gave me the option to get inssurance. So I am paying that 6.99 a month. He actually did mention something about that he "wasn't suppose" to but he signed me up anyway. I hope he didnt screw me because as it turns out the phone is defective.
(he didn't know the phone was rooted either, I didnt even know up until a few days ago.)

173 is GB and the latest official build. Thats the one you want for turn in. As far as unrooting you could also just use ginger unroot from the martet, and factory reset?

Whats ginger unroot? is that an app? Is that easier than the other method? Sorry for all the questions, I completely new at all of this.

I think that you are making this harder than it actually is.

Save to your sd card any files you want to keep.

Run the #1 option on the Utility that was linked to you. This sets it back to stock, unrooted, like you just got it from the store and opened the box. That is all you need to do. No one will be able to tell you had it rooted. File your claim, send it in. There you go.

ou're gonna want to use this tool to restore to 6.12.173. To get your phone into AP Fastboot mode power it down then hold the "volume down" button while you press the power button. You will most likely need to download the proper drivers for your computer (included in the linked post). Hope this helps.
Okay you say to hold the power button and the volume down button and the tool says hold down both volume buttons and power button, ive tried both methods and nothing happens it just keeps rebooting normally. What is the correct method and when exactly am I suppose to hold down the buttons?

The proper method is with power off, press and hold all 3 buttons for at least 3-5 seconds. If the phone is on, you have to power off first. If the phone reboots doing the process above, you aren't hitting all three buttons at exactly the same time. Try again.
