So are you going to post the build you made today or are you waiting to get some more stuff sorted into it?
On a side note, I bought a droid 3 to mess around with, used it for just short of a week to really give it a chance. I can't stand that thing. Its too big, too thick, the keyboard sucks compared to ours, and the battery life was horrendous.
Now I'm back to my lovely thin, small, droid pro. Yay for droid pro!

So I've finally gotten this installed on my DroidPro. I started with the 4.7.3 stock OTA, wiped system, cleared cache and dalvik, installed this 3-21Camera.zip, and the gapps from goo.im. The camera didn't work at first, but i used titaniumbackup to clear the settings from Camera and then it seemed to work for awhile. It occasionally force closes still. After selectively restoring my apps from titanium backup, i cleared cache and dalvik again, and upon boot it scanned and optimized my apps for ICS performance.
Many applications seem to be very laggy, and will eventually ask me to wait or close. If i select wait they will load, but general performance seems pretty slow for me. Specifically, Facebook, Good for Enterprise (corp email account), and initial load of trebuchet are very slow, and will often sit at a white screen for quite awhile. My sound periodically goes into silent mode for reasons i cannot determine. I sometimes have to wait for the system to respond to key presses while in the apps/widgets list, and wait 10-15 seconds before i can turn the screen off, often i will end up inadvertently turning the screen back on as i press it a second time thinking it missed my first press. I have also had a few complete freezes while in various programs causing me to have to do a battery pull to reboot the phone.
Any tips for what i might try to make things a little snappier?
Though I've read through the thread multiple times, I don't recall seeing which version of GB I should be coming from. People were just saying things like "froyo to gb to cm9" or "sbf to cm9" or "sbf to OTA update to cm9". It was unclear to me which version I should be coming from, so I went with the latest as it had a newer kernel that was supposed to have better battery life.
If this isn't the case, what is the best way for me to go to the previous kernel, which i think was 2.3.3 vs 2.3.4?
Technically, I was still on 4.6.8 but used clockwork to flash just the kernel from 4.7.3.
Unless the 4.7.3 update changed the kernel, (which I don't think it did) there should be no problem flashing over from it. Having the GB kernel is the important part.
I had pretty much all the issues that you describe as well; I think they are just the bugs in the 3-21 build. A couple of us made the frankenbuild, which was the 3-4 build plus the libraries and Camera.apk from 3-21 to give us a working camera, and the relative stability of the 3-4 build.
I think some kind soul made a frankenbuild zip file that you can just flash if you like.
