Hey Guys,

Thanks for the great work ---- I just got the OTA Gingerbread update earlier today before I found this thread. If I want to try Cyanogen on my phone (which now boots with a red M) what are the full instructions for doing so?

Based on the flowchart in the first post I only need the zip with Cyanogen -- correct? What exactly do I do with the zip? I remember in my old Droid I needed to boot into recovery mode, run some wipe/clean commands and install an update file -- is that the case with the Pro? If so, how do you get into recovery mode?

Finally I'm having the white Wifi issue.

It seems like the wifi issue has something to do with the DNS resolver.

When the wifi is white, I could still ping 208.67.222.222, means that there is no problem with the network per se, but when I do a nslookup google.com it shows that nameservers are 0.0.0.0. Even when I specify the DNS server to use (e.g. 8.8.8.8) it still fails. Seems like DNS is the problem here guys.

This is what happened to me. Getting an IP address was never a problem. Gateway and DNS were always at 0.0.0.0 for some reason. Even when settings DNS to google dns servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 using DNS setting app, it still wouldn't work. Even tried setting all fields manually and still I couldn't get anywhere.

Considering the fact that gingerbread for the DPro is seemingly rolling out, will there be a new update to the CM7 Rom now, assuming the newly released GB update is a newer build?

The current build of CM7 already uses the Gingerbread kernel. In fact, the version that I'm seeing on my phone is 2.3.7, whereas the OTA update is probably 2.3.3.

Well, compared to other unofficial gingerbread builds, the actual official update you guys have received today has pretty much the same kernel (phone backbone) but it does have newer Wifi modules that I've incorporated into the new builds. I got a tip on fixing the camera so hopefully everything will work out with that. The official OTA also brought a better baseband (radio file) so there should be better service and battery life than if we didn't have those files :P

Also, I took a stab at another quick kernel update zip (will be two parts) but it can be flashed through clockwork on rooted 3.8.7 so in case you have to sbf, you can sbf straight to 3.8.7, root, go into clockwork, install my two updates, then without leaving clockwork, restore a backup of your new GB OTA. So I recommend making a quick backup of your current system after you take the OTA that you can use if you need to restore. (The D3 Charge only mode root method works with the official OTA btw)

And can somebody who has pulled the LatinIME.apk from a working build to fix a broken one (the one that doesn't force close or show the soft keyboard in portrait) upload it and send me a link to it? It's only like 8 megabytes and it would really help everybody out
