If the idont phone virtual keyboard was worse than Droids, I pity the poor idont folks! I am not loving the Droids virtual keyboard-it is a tad finicky. I am getting used to it, but i far prefer the slider keyboard. And i am a woman with small hands. How are guys with bigger hands navigating the virtual keyboard? I always end up 1 or 2 keys over from where I want to be.
I gave Droid a 5. I am a total newbie to smartphones tho-I upgraded from an EnV2 (if Droid had EnV2's keyboard that would be one awesome phone, tho Droid's pullout qwerty isnt too bad!). My technical proficiency range is "know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be held accountable for it" lol! I have done a pretty good job figuring out the basics on Droid, with only a couple references to the User Manual. Like when I first got it and couldnt figure out how to turn it back on lol!!!!

I switched over from a BBCurve8330 and I thought I'd miss my little "Crackberry" but not yet. I have no disappointments or problems with the DROID so far, but bought a couple apps I don't like, but that's just a few bucks.

So many of my friends and family jumped ship from Verizon to other carries bc they were tired of everyone else getting cool and innovative smartphones. I stayed loyal and they finally brought in a phone that competes with other carries. I voted 5 for reasons other than just the phone. I think the Droid, teamed with Verizon's network, and me upgrading from a voyager definitely deserves a 5!

5/5
My only issue is that some of the apps arent android 2.0 compatible yet but I knew that would be the case for the fisrt few days/weeks so its no big deal. The more important ones work fine.

Really? Thats like me ordering the most amazing steak on earth from a restaurant and then saying I cant give it a 5 because the cow wasn't raised on my favorite local farm.
Ummm...no it isn't. Voice commands over Bluetooth is a pretty basic feature that the phone is lacking right now.

I feel bad for Verizon and Motorola if their ratings on this phone are dependent on the users ability to adapt to technology.
It is just a measure of how intuitive the phone/interface/whatever is...many people that get the phone are not going to be tech savvy and the phone needs to be able to be easy to use.

So if your going to deduct a full point based on not having a simple feature not many people use... the iPhone must have a -15 rating on 5 then? lol
I can see where your coming from but the phone has some features that no other phones have so I think that makes up for the 1 or maybe 2 things it has missing. I'm sure an update will solve that issue anyways though.

Eh...different features are more important to some people than others...it's not like he gave it a 2 because of it.
I definitely agree that it will most likely be taken care of in a future software update.

Gave it a 5. Yes, maybe 4.5 for now. A little buggy, but still a great phone.

Good phone. Rated it 4. There is some lag (in milisecs) when going from one homescreen to another. Probably because of high resolution screen.
Keyboard is not bad once you get use to it, camera (low light) is below average, touch screen is very responsive. The stock music widget is not the best.
Motorola should write some custom widgets for the phone (like HTC) to make it more appealing.

Good phone but....
I gave the Droid a 3 because I'm finding a lot of things about it not really user friendly. Things that on my old "dumb phone" were easy to program and use, I still haven't been able to find on my droid, such as being able to assign different ring tones to different people in my contact list. I only got the phone yesterday (Sunday 11/08), so I'm still learning about it, and the people at the Verizon store didn't know how to do very much on it. I figured a lot of things out today, and I think as time goes on and I learn more about it I will like it much more. Over all I think it's a good phone, it just could me more user friendly.
