It started on the left side. Then the entire screen became loose. I could push down on the center of the screen and it would give a little and click. The replacement is much tighter.
Yes! I have the Issue.
No! I have nver seen this issue.
Yes, and I already exchanged at least 1 unit beacuse of it.
NO, but maybe I should look and make sure

Mine was loose at the bottom left corner. Took it to the Verizon store today and they exchanged it out for a brand new one no questions asked. New one is solid.
I am personally not having this problem however my girlfriend is with her Droid.
I doubt it's caused by removing the plastic film on the back of the screen because both of ours are removed and mine does not budge at all.
When (any of you) took the phone in to exchange it for this loose screen problem, did VZN.....
(1) transfer all your information for free ?
(2) Did your apps survive ?
(3) want a "complete" exchange i.e charger, cables or were they OK w/just the phone ?
(4) Were there any fees ?
Thanks...![]()
(1) I didn't ask, since all my information consists of information that is stored with my Google account anyway.
(2) Purchased ones showed up in the list automatically, others I just reinstalled.
(3) Just phone, out of a brand new box.
(4) No
I went to a VZN store this morning and showed the manager my "loose" screen. We checked the 4 phones that they had in the lobby. They ALL had loose screens to some degree or another. We then went thru another 12 or 13 phones in stock. Every single one had a loose screen in that the top part would shift over appx 1/16th inch (maybe less)...but they definitely shifted. The manager said "lets try a different case". He went and got me a "Body Glove" case. We removed the VzN Clamshell and put the Body Glove on. The 1st thing I noticed is that the Body Glove is far less slippery than the clamshell. I like that. The second thing I noticed is that the "loose screen" wasn't so loose anymore. Not gone...but virtually unnoticeable unless a deliberate attempt to shift the screen was made. The clicking noise was completely gone. Now...I don't know if this is a permanent fix..but I feel better. Guy gave me the case...and some screen protectors. He then reminded me that if it got worse or that I was dissatisfied to come back and we would go through the checking each phone drill again until we found one that met my satisfaction ... or at least has less "looseness" than mine. I could do that for up to a year. I am satisfied...good customer service...![]()
Now, I know the issue still exists...but after wearing out my fingers checking phones..I'm not convinced it's a "problem". I see that many users on the forum haven't experienced it. Take the case off, take the plastic coverings off...then check your phone. If it's there then maybe it's a design flaw...or maybe not. The functionality of the phone is not affected. Wish we could get a reading from Motorola on this...![]()
1. yes
2. used astro file manager to backup apps myself
3. phone only (even kept my current battery since it was "known good")
4. no
I agree with the other screens in store are loose. it was actually my wifes phone we exchanged. she uses the keyboard often. then new phone has is not loose at all, but i'm sure it will be after a while of her using it. I don't use my hard keyboard at all, so mine isn't loose.
it seems to be a design flaw with the moto droid. if you use it, it gets loose, if you don't use it it stays tight.
After I read this post, I decided to check to see if my phone is like that and whenever I press the left side (not the screen the black part) it clicks... but whenever I just touch it like I would touch the phone to text it doesn't really click. Should I have mine replaced?
The screen stays tighter if you leave the sticker thingy on the back of the screen.
If you peel that off it starts to loosen quickly
on my third Droid havent had that issue
