I'll have this baby for a long time... Probably wouldn't get much if I sold it so I'll hang onto it and even after I upgrade I can keep it as a backup phone.

I was considering getting one of these refurbed/lightly used or new off ebay for my wife since she is not out of upgrade from the hell that is the Storm 9530 but they are still going for $250+ NIB if you can even find one that isn't used! One of my co-workers has had one since launch and its rooted to 800mhz, he is planning to keep it until LTE is out, proven and available just about everywhere or it breaks. My Father in law has one too but he has not clue what I'm talking about when I say "root" or "nandroid" so obviously his is still stock lol.
Also not sure what everyone is complaining about on the X and the 2... we've been able to root these for at least a few months (forget when it got cracked), load custom roms/blurless roms, themes, overclock, bootstrap etc... With that said I don't see any point in upgrading to a 2 over the 1 if you already have a 1. I personally will probably hold on to my X for a very long time with all the things it can do even after I upgrade to whatever mega uber omfgwtfbbq LTE Honeycomb Droid comes out in a year or two.
-Bionic, Extended Battery, stock rooted JB, still going strong
-D3 MavRom, backup phone
-boost mobile Epic 4G 1.4GHZ Marcusant V3 R.I.P.
As soon as my new every 2 is up, I'll sell my Droid 1 for more than I paid for it, adn get a dual core phone with 4g and no memory issues like my Droid, I'm so sick of the 256mb or memory, that's pathetic.

If you like my work or I have helped you out and you would like to help me keep the lights on, it is greatly appreciated!!
I'm waiting for Samsung to put their Dual-Core CPU/Quad-Core GPU setup from their new Galaxy Tab into their series of Galaxy phones, paired with a sturdy 4000 mAh battery...and I'll do terrible, terrible things to acquire that device.
I like the D2, DX, Galaxy S, and DPro, but they honestly don't seem like enough of a step forward for me to want to spend the money and upgrade early. My D1 still works fine, and I still like it plenty.
Rooted D1, ChevyNo1 1.1ghz mdV kernel, MIUI 1.6.10 ROM. Google voice/Groove IP home phone.
Droid Incredible 2, Tiamat 1.1.5 kernel, Liquid 3.1 ROM. So far, so good!
Bought myself a docking station, finally....Future for my D1 is an overpriced and overpowered alarm clock radio
In all seriousness, the fact the D1 connects to my Wifi means it never outlives its usefulness until it literally dies. If I can figure out how to get VoIP working well there's also that possibility.
Heck, with the docking station you could even turn it into a little picture frame. Really has a lot of uses even after it ceases to be your primary mobile device.
Kodiak, have you had problems with the Skype apps? There's also Fring and a few others out there.
Have done a few calls from Google/GV over my computer that worked pretty good. I haven't had a home phone for years, but considering get a VoIP phone. But it's not something I feel that I need enough to pay a Skype or similar service for.
Ah, good point. I just like being able to talk to people through my headset while I'm driving through Skype. Means I don't have to text them and wrap myself around a tree or pedestrian.
