I will be returning to Verizon after a one year leave as I

went to ATT for the Bold after my Storm repeatedly failed me. I really want a fast and easy to use phone that has a large screen (Iphone,Storm2, Droid). My Bold has wroked well and ATT has done a reasonably good job, but not as good as Verizon. I will buy the Droid and use it for thirty days whereupon we will get married, or I will pick up the Storm 2. Verizon's email server has been a problem in the past which is why BB has had such a big advantage with its direct push system. If the Droid does not push Imap and POP3, will this be a problem again as far as emails not being sent to the phone at all? Most of my email accounts are POP3. If I can type on the Droid and it is reliable, I think it should work well for me. If it is as problematic as the Storm was initially, I will return it after the thirty days, or sooner if it is really messed up. I have my fingers crossed.

Yeah that's the good thing about the 30 day trials. If you don't like it your more then welcome to take it back and say good-bye. I just have used phones on the at&t network and just have not been satisfied at all with the quality of the calls at all.

be careful with that though... i just found out my date to upgrade is feb 2011! i switched phones for a few weeks back in the summer and returned it within the 30 day trial allotment. it seems as if they just sort of re-signed me for another two-year agreement! they are supposed to call me back today though and have something worked out. my date to upgrade originally was the 16th of this month, so i have been just hanging on to my BB, ready to flush it down the toilet. but we gotta get this sorted first. just be careful with the 30 day trial thing is all i'm saying.

upgrading from a Blackberry Tour. Sadly I will be leaving the BB behind. They had/have a great product but the platform is now dated and stale.

I thought I'd never leave the product line but RIM has failed to stay ahead of the technology curve and keeps putting out small incremental upgrades.

I don't feel like adding a trackpad to the same old song and dance is evolving. The Droid will in fact become an Army : )

Hey Cereal, Nice to see a fellow **ackberry member on here. I, too feel the same. BBM and PIN messaging were pretty cool, (especially for communicating with my government friends that weren't allowed to sms on there BB's). But everything else BB is out dated. RIM is trying, but failing. I gave the Storm1 a year and still I don't feel like it is reliable. And battery pulls all the time is just ridiculous.

Hey West...Yeah it gets old...the Storm2 forums are already on fire. People are getting very upset and fighting over there about everything from the OS on down. They are already thirsty for a leak and/or update for christ sake.

There are numerous threads about the Droid in there too that are really pushing some people over the edge : )

Balsillie will eat his words "buggy software is the new reality"

Thats RIM's reality and it will now come up and bite him on the a$$

It's kind of sad. It's like watching a sinking ship, but when you don't take care of the end user they will go elsewhere

I have a feeling that many feel the same as you do. I am just glad that I decided to wait on the storm seeing as it got quite a bit of bad reviews. Now I can get the droid with no hassles at all.

It gets completely out of hand, not to mention that a good portion of the posters are real jack-asses... anyway. I think RIM/Verizon screwed the pooch with the Storm1. RIM probably thought they could keep there loyal BB users. It was my first time owning a BB. Loved some things but damn, somethings were too much (daily battery, unreliable hardware... and so on). I am pretty sure they lost a LOT of potential new RIM customers and a few BB addicts the the Storm1.
