Regarding AT&T. a friend of mine this past week accidentally flushed her old non-smart phone. I, being a Verizon customer, told her to call at&t and have them temporarily switch her number to another phone on her account til she could get another. They told her "Uh, we don't do that" and offered to forward her line to the other and double bill her. She freaked when I told her she could switch phones if on Verizon without even speaking to a rep. You get the impression they just don't care...

I've been an LG clamshell phone user for over 7 years now up until today when I got my Droid X ordered overnight via Fedex.
I think i've waited, earned and am entitled to finally joining the smartphone world for staying in the the "basic" phone world for so long.![]()
I went with the Droid 2 because the touch screen on my LG touch died. Just wanted to get another phone with keyboard for texting nothing more, but since the choices were non existant without having to get into the data plan I decided to take the jump with the Droid 2 and unlimted data. If I had a choice I would have stuck with a simple phone with keyboard for texting.
On a HTC DROID Incredible. Upgraded from a LG EnV Touch.

I just this weekend purchased a Droid X. I switched from a Palm Pre Plus. I had the original Pre when it was first released on Sprint and I loved it. Switched to verizon for the pre plus and still really liked it, but as other new phones started rolling out the pre became more and more dated, with a tiny screen, tiny keyboard, and only a 500mhz processor. So I overclocked it to 1ghz and was ok with it. I tried to wait as long as possible before getting a new phone, trying to be loyal to palm, hoping they would release a new device that was running webos. When it was finally announced that they were releasing a new webos device I was excited, until I saw the specs/hardware. Same size screen, keyboard, they only thing that changed was the processor and camera. That was it for me. I was eligible for an upgrade so I did some research and bought my x. I couldn't be happier. The ONLY thing I miss from my Pre is it's multitasking. I know the x multitasks, and it does do a good job at it, but coming from webos,i really miss the whole card view type multitasking. Otherwise all I can say is WOW. LOVE, love, love the Droid X. My coworker has an iphone 4 and I would take the X any day over it, except I do like the video chat, but who would only want to be able to video chat on wifi? Not me.
