Coming over from BB and Sprint
I've just had it with BB and the poor service at Sprint. Sprint has an inexpensive service but if you can't get a connection in a metroplitan area what's the value? I'm not willing to take a chance on Storm 2 and no way will I buy into the iphone hype. Droid here I come

Verizon for years - first a Samsung, and more recently went through about 4 years with Razr (total of three after insurance replacements for breaking). Yea - I'm rough on my equipment!
But Motorola makes the toughest phones! First Smartphone - Droid Rocks!

Decided it was time to retire my Palm Treo 700p (except for using it to my audible.com books until Audible releases their Android player). My Droid arrives on Tuesday. Voice commands and larger screen are why I didn't go with the Palm Pre Plus.

Although with Verizon pushing the droid phones so hard it makes me wonder if they will offer the iPhone next year? The last rumors I heard indicated Verizon will carry the iPhone next year, but now I'm starting to wonder. It would seem akward to bash the iPhone with the new droid commercials and end up selling it down the road..
Maybe they won't need to sell it after the DROID phones become popular and they can give Apple the finger

I had the same experience until Apple decided to screw with the phones to prevent jailbreaking and unlocking and the service has sucked and been spotty. I got rid of it and thrilled doing so.
I will say this about Android. Anyone who every complained about Palm Treos being flaky should stay away. Android represents some of the worst beta testing I have seen in a while. I don't know how 1.0 got off the ground and 2.0 is very much a beta although at least it is open and being developed on in competition with the iPhone, which will fade over the next year even with an upgrade. There is a lot of open development and improvements that are making teh iPhone show it's age and limitations.

I had a four year old Audiovox CDM-8945 flip phone. It was cool for a while, and I liked that it played music and movies and some decent games, but I don't miss it. There's no going back to a "dumb" phone after having the Droid, not for me anyway.

Still on a Moto Droid - but may very well be posting about a new HTC Incredible very soon! Unless I hear more about the new A955 Droid II coming soon!
