i guess engadget is afraid to bash on apples new "revolutionary" itunes logo cause the Apple Police will find them or how their old logo used to have a rainbows for their gay pride? did we all forget that the very word "droid" and all things related originated from and is a registered trademark of lucasfilm ltd? the droid is obviously more based on the original designs of R2-D2, more evidence to support my theory you ask? how about the R2-D2 model of the droid? in my opinion, this post is alot like the movie, "23" you can twist **** anyway you want to make it seem plausible.

I'm with raven (I'm no star wars fanatic) in that it looks more like r2d2. The android from the atari game looks more like a cockroach.

Trademarked? Yes. Originated? NO WAY! Lucas did not originate the word droid, he merely was wise enough to trademark it. Similar to Pat Riley trademarking the term Three-peat.
