Manually Update to 2.0.1

Now.. I've scrolled to where it says "apply sdcard:update.zip but nothing is happening...... I assume from here I now turn the phone off?

Once you scroll to where it says apply update.zip press the gold button on the D-pad to execute the command. YOu will see 5-6 lines scroll by as it does the update and it will let you know when its done and okay to reboot.

i only see "apply sdcard:update.zip" is this the one i want to choose?

Yes, that's the option you want. Select it with the d-pad and hit the center button.
I just did it, works perfectly. The update is great, much more responsive home screens/menus.

This part was a bit confusing because I just didn't install after navigating to where it says "update.zip".. it just sat there forever....
I did have to hit the power button to turn off the phone... then it rebooted and installed on its own.....but I still have the old firmware.... mine didn't take.
guess I'll try it again.

I renamed the file to update.zip and put it in the SD card (not in a folder). Anything i did wrong?
