It won't work on a rooted Droid. I'm still rooted. SPRecovery blocked it. It's for stock Droids only.

Has anyone tried to unroot, install, and re-root?
Reinstall of Swype did not get it working again. This sucks.
I just grabbed the package and am checking it out now to see what all is in it. Just because it is small doesn't mean there isn't anything fun inside.
First, like the OTA before it, this one will attempt to enable what I call the FRS. If it succeeds, flashing on a custom recovery will not stick unless you change your kernel or disable the FRS in another way (see the link).
Second, package is coded to install over the following builds:
That second one in the list is the same build fingerprint as you'll have when the patch finishes (and is also the same build fingerprint that was in P3Droid's leak earlier in the week).Code:verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG01B/45394:user/release-keys verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG22D/50454:user/release-keys
Perhaps there was an earlier OTA with the same build fingerprint that saw very limited distribution. Why else would you design a package coded to install over it's own build fingerprint?
Anyway, that's what I see in there on first glance.
Droid 1 - the "unbrickable" droid.
FRG22D - stock, rooted, ChevyNo1 LV 1.1GHz kernel, SetCPU 2.0.2, Superuser 2.3.6.1
Droid X, Droid 2, Droid 2 Global (Band Unlocked), Droid Pro Global (Band Unlocked)

Well, it might install if you're rooted.
I just rooted the other day... half forgot I'd even done it. And I just updated to 22d. It installed fine. But I didn't have SPRecovery installed - just rooted and Busybox.
Now I appear to be rooted to EasyRoot/UniversalAndroot - but apps that require root won't work. And neither one will unroot me either.
<chuckle> Not one of my wiser moves. That's what I get for being impulsive.
So we have to wait for people to put it into the roms?
