I'm confused. I have an original Droid, and I'm still waiting for the 2.2 update. How many people have received the update so far? How long should I expect to wait? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well I can't tell you an exact number but it is rolling out there are alot of droid's out there so it will take some time ,the latest news we have gotten is that everyone will have 2.2 by the 18th. Your guess is as good as mine if it happens that way. All we can do is wait

i downloaded the FRG01B build about a week ago and have loved it since. so much more responsive and faster than 2.1

I've scoured this thread, and I've got one question.

Other than getting it sooner, is there any advantage to manually updating to 2.2 using the file on the OP as opposed to waiting for the OTA? If the end result is exactly the same, I'll probably just wait for the OTA - I'm lazy .

If by manually updating though I get a "cleaner" install that will run better, I'll do it.

It will simply be getting it sooner. If anything, you will stand to get a cleaner install waiting for the actual OTA as that will be the latest version available and set to install exactly as Verizon had intended.

sdlenhert, just go ahead and install the newer over the older 2.2. Works fine and cleared up all my issues with last weeks 2.2

Well, I tried that and the installed failed. I downloaded the update to the root of the sd card and renamed it to UPDATE.ZIP, but when it went through the update it said that the file did not exist.
