If you manually updated to 2.2 last week do you need to update to this or is it exactly the same?

i dont care anymore! im so tired of this unrooted froyo mess. today i sucessfully rooted and booted up a rom that I love. my phone runs great now with no problems that I had been having while unrooted with the froyo i manually updated with. my phone as of now is banging!

but i have a question. i manually updated my moms to froyo as well. will she get notified for a ota update or do I need to send her back to 2.1 somehow?
