Using google voice or skype and a wireless I-net connection, you essentially do have a VOIP phone built in. right?
That is true but I live out in the country no broadband out here. I do get descent 3G and soon LTE service out here though.
A new tower is going up in one of the fields less than a mile away that verizon says will have 4G LTE.

    Hey Talon8Ya,
I'm curious have you ever looked into the satellite based I-net services? LTE will definitely be the connection you're looking for.

What about a verizon/sprint mifi? I use a mifi for work, it gets pretty decent throughput. You also get 3-4 hours wifi connected 3G on a single battery charge.

My in-laws have satellite internet and frankly it is usually terrible. I am just on the edge of a dead spot so for right now until the new verizon tower is complete this fall there is no mifi and such. The joys of rural living.

On the plus side the new verizon tower is supposed to have LTE with 3G.
    Can't wait.

I more than welcomed the correction. However, first off, the mistake was pointed out by a previous poster, and secondly he wrote this, which offended me greatly. a simple correction would've sufficed:

Heat has nothing to do with capacitivity based TS's.

No offense, but if part of the news team, please check your sources.
i mean, come on, i'm not allowed to make a mistake?
That's what I said, it was a bit out of place what he said, but don't get your shorts all tied in a knot because of it. The quote from his Google search was good, the extra comment was uncalled for, but why allow it to get you so upset.
It's called discussion, and because of the discussion I learned something. Thanks to both of you for contributions. Until I read this thread today, I too, belived capacitative screens responded to heat. Must be a few on the news team with misinformation.

    Cha!

    Wireless Connectivity

Any idea how I can use my rooted D1, using wireless Tether, to connect to the internet? Thanks!

    dont quote me

I believe capacitative touch also meant multi-touch, where as this unit is only single touch. I have been told by many companies I have asked about this that android 2.2 aka froyo will not work on this so will be nice to see if CM can get it to work.

I did more research and I guess the arm11 cpu that this actually has in it wont handle JIT I guess.

    Motorola Xoom SOON to come
I hope to give it the BlackNBold treatment
