Flash Support Will Never See Life On Google Chrome for Android
Users who were hoping that Google Chrome for Android would eventually get Flash support, may just want to sit down for this one. Adobe has confirmed that Google Chrome for Android , won't be getting Flash support after the limited release, as some hoped. The native browser still supports Flash, but eventually that will be replaced by Google Chrome to help unify Android's mobile browsing experience. Luckily for the Flash devotee's, the Market still provides some excellent third party browsers. Anyone upset with the decision to abandon Flash in favor of HTML5? We'd love to hear your opinions.

Flash is the only reason I don't own an iPhone so thats a shame

I have to say i'm a little disappointed. One of the things I didn't like about my iphone 3g. My gf just happens to be a professional belly dancer. Most of her videos have been done using flash. How am I supposed to watch her dance with swords on her head and breathing fire now? With my incredible, I often used skyfire, it used to tell me that all video content was free for using verizon. Now, every two seconds it asks me to pay for upgrade to video support.

I did read that Google is planning to port the current version of Flash to Chrome, and Adobe supports this. Of course it isn't official and who knows when or if we will see it.

I guess that means there will always be 3rd party browsers on Android. Not ideal, but still better than the "No soup for you" solution on iOS.

Not a big deal for me, I'm loving the beta so far. I already replaced the stock browser icon with the Chrome one on my bottom bar.

This.
Chrome runs sooo much faster (not that the stock browser was slow) and I love how I can sync my tabs.

Flash is slowly being replaced, so its not like you won't be able to watch videos.
Flash is too old and outdated and really its just its time to die lol
Apple started the push to kill Flash and its working, with Google on support now it will only be time before Flash dies and HTML5 takes over, the way it should be.

Yeah at this point I rarely use flash, even my stock browser is set to ondemand. And as more people buy smart phones and taking the place of pcs more sites are moving away from flash. Comparing my favorite site, nfl.com, on a computer with flash plugins and on my browser with out it. 2 years ago you saw a lot of flash plugins on the nfl site. Now we are seeing less and less, infact I can argue that the nfl.com site on my computer is identical with the one on my chrome android browser. Flash is on its way out and I would be surprised if this time last year its still considered a priority in a browser.
my phone of choice: verizon Googorola Nexus
