I'm probably going to buy it now or over the weekend, just wanna make sure i can get it insured and everything.
I'm wondering the same thing about insurance, etc. - how does it work if I extend my Verizon contract through Amazon? I'd rather save the $90 if I can.

    Question

You always always have to read the fine print before buying something like a cell online.

Not sure amazons policy on canceling within 30 days. Letstalk takes it to an extreme. 30 days or 30 minutes of usage. So get on the phone and use 31 minutes day one. Your done no returning it.

I know I'm gonna stick with it but have one place, my house where in town I have had several places my verizon lines dropped calls. As log as the droid can handle a call inside m house. I'm happy.

Most nonveriZon sellers also have a service cause in them. Letstalk require you maintain the plan you sign up for or a higher plan for 6 months. If you get a 900 plan with unlimited texting, and after a couple months Xcode you only need 450 minutes. They hit you with a $250 fee. I signed up for the lowest and figure I can raise it when I choose if needed to avoid the fee.

You are able to order any service verizon offers as it is still your provider, insurance and all that. I still get my service discount of 20%.

As far as amazon. Just check the company your actually buying from. Like eBay most times your not buying something directly from them. It's a third party seller who will have their own additional rules beyond verizons.

Ie. Say I cancel on day 31. I pay $175 cancelation fee with verizon and a $250 fee from letstalk. However if I cancel on day 181. I pay whatever verizon charges at that time. $130 or whatever it is.

Hey everyone, I'm going to be getting a Motorola Droid soon and stumbled on this thread. I'm currently an AT&T iPhone user and will be cancelling when I get my Verizon up.

so I've seen the deals on Wirefly and now this Amazon deal. I was wondering this: I'm going to be joining on my mom's family plan to save some money and was wondering if it was possible to do that through these sites. I know most of them are setup for new customers with their own account, but how about adding to a current family plan and canceling my AT&T. Any help is appreciated. I'm excited for a new phone and I think I'll like the Droid a lot!

Just be careful purchasing anywhere other than Verizon. I have the Nationwide family share plan, i was eligible for upgrade (we have 4 lines on the plan). Thru Verizon, with the online instant rebate, the phone was $199. Thru Wirefly, even tho they advertised the Droid at $109, since my primary number wasnt more than 22 months into the contract, i was going to have to pay $149 for the phone. GREAT! you say, thats at least a $50 savings? Nope. Got to checkout, and Wirefly charges a $25 activation fee, bringing the phone up to $175. Thanks but no thanks, i chose to stick with Verizon where i KNOW i have great customer service, i know when i call im gonna be talking to someone in the U.S., and a company that in 10 years has treated me with nothing but great service. Wirefly, i had to call TWICE to find out wtf was up with me trying to get the price at what they advertised, both times, i was talking to someone in or from the middle east and sounded like he had a damn mouth full of curry. I couldnt understand a word he said. I then decided to email them and let them know of my experience, and whattaya know, i get a response back from someone with a first name that contained about 30 letters, and from his obvious broken english in his typing, "he wusnt frum around these here parts".

I was then told Dell offered the same deal, so i go to Dell's website. Other than the DELL logo at the top of their webpage, i thought, DAMN this looks just like the Wirefly website. I go to the contact us page, and guess what? SAME EMAIL, SAME MAILING ADDRESS, SAME EVERYTHING. Its the same damn 3rd/4th party outfit.

Bottom line, id rather pay, even if it means up to $100 more, to work with a reputable company that i have a fantastic history with, rather than shady non english speaking idiots that i have no idea what kind of service i'll have after the sale.

Hi, I currently have a non-primary line on a family contract with verizon. It will be another 4 months until anyone on the plan is eligible for an upgrade. However, when I go for the upgrade/contract extension option of this amazon deal, and after I put in all the proper info like which line the phone is for, account #, and ect the price is still $109. I keep double checking all the account info I put in and it always comes out for the same. I want this deal but I'm worried that since I'm not up for an upgrade I will get charged/penalized later. Has anyone upgraded through this deal before they were eligible for upgrade, and how much did you pay? Thanks.

Fine, good luck. personally i think either youve missed entering something, or like me, its giving you a price that sounds too good to be true, especially since NONE of your lines are eligible for upgrade. They have a number you can call to place the order too, try calling, and if you can understand the nimrod on the other end of the line, see what they say.

How do you get VIP status from VZ? I've been a customer for 10+ years and never heard of it.

Never mind, found it. Surprised customer support has never referred me to this program being a long time customer.
