DMUpdater 12
Good Sunday morning. Just saw that Camel has posted the DMUpdater over at DroidMod. It doesn't include the exploid root, but "we’re discussing releasing a version that will, since there’s already a million copycat apps out there."
They haven't released a new rom yet, but the old option to restore to stock unrooted 2.0.1 is there, again (and still) a method to unroot that does NOT require the use of the finicky RSD Lite.
good luck

The real droidmodupdater app
DroidMod Updater 12
Posted on August 22, 2010 by Camel
Click this link directly from your phone’s browser, or launch DMUpdater if you already have it installed. This version does not include the exploid root, but we’re discussing releasing a version that will, since there’s already a million copycat apps out there.
For the complete list of changes, you can view the commit log. The major changes are:
- Compatibility with CyanogenMod
- Compatibility with Froyo
- Flash existing Durden snapshots from the root of the sdcard
- Various bug fixes

ROMs added to DMUpdater
Posted on August 23, 2010 by Camel
After the release of DMUpdater, my inbox became flooded with requests/complaints from people who were expecting Durden to be released, or for more ROMs to be added. Well, Durden isn’t released yet, so don’t get your panties in a bunch. I have, however, added some ROMs that might be of interest:
- The stock, signed by Google, FRG01B update (the one Verizon is pushing out now). You will lose root if you flash this, but the next release of DMUpdater will include the exploid root.
- The last Eclair snapshot of Durden, from before we merged in AOSP’s Froyo release. There were a few issues with this, but it’s from May 24th, so I don’t remember what they are. Don’t expect any support for this.
- The July 22 snapshot of Froyo from the Durden tree. This is the same ROM that we’ve had in the topic of the IRC channel for the past month, so autofocus in the camera is broken. Don’t expect support for this either."
In bold above, yet again a non RSD Lite method to "un-root" as in my sig.
good luck

DM updater 12 has the ability to go back to stock 2.1 or 2.2 with out using rsdlite. That alone is worth putting the app on your device IMO.

Use the app mgr. Quick install like any app.
The trouble I'm having with it is it's asking me to update my recovery image. I have the latest clockwork so I'm assuming it's asking to flash sprecovery. I does this every time I open the app up. Do I have to have sprecovery flashed before I even attempt to look into this thing??

Let it flash SPRecovery for you and the prompt will go away.
It's an AWESOME app btw

Thanks cereal. Just did now. It gave me an error first saying I was out of memory but then tried again and it worked. Its been a while since I had this updater app on my phone and forgot how to use it. It is definitely worth having though. Thanks for the help!

sorry guys, i'm having troubles. when i put the zip on my sdcard, i can't get the app mgr to activate. when i touch the zip file, i get all the subfolders, not the prompt to "open app manager". i know it's something simple and stupid, but i'm running on 3 hrs of sleep...
EDIT: nevermind - renamed .apk. duh, doh, and double face palm...
i'm tempted to delete this post; but, it's Monday - i'm sure somebody scrolling thru here could use a good laugh.
