is there any info on exactly what changes will be introduced? theyve been underground for so long im expecting something really nice here
edit:
With all of that, I'd like to give you a couple of spoilers for the Project Durden. This is all information I've gotten out of the #droidmod IRC channel, so anyone who hangs out there could have picked this up as well:
1.Kernel Development: sgx is working on a way to remove the current “cpu clock speed slots” and replace with a more dynamic way of setting cpu speed. What this means for you as a user is no more finding that special kernel with the clock speeds you want or voltage settings you desire. You should be able to set your desired levels “on the fly”. I'm not sure the specifics on the implementation of this but it sounds purely amazing if it works.
2.The next iteration of SPRecovery will support :
a)Charging while in recovery.
b)Cross nandroid support (ClockworkMod compatibility)
c)Bootlogo changing on the fly. Bootlogo is the Motorola “M” before bootanimation, in its current state the standard to change the image is to flash a new sbf file which is both time consuming and a misuse of what the sbf is designed for.

So excited about this.
Never really gave up on them, as they do great work and made it easy for everyone to root and try new roms with SM updater. They were at the top of the dev list with cyanogen. I agree they fell off for a while, but I will be flashing durden on day 1 of its release. They make amazingly stable and fast roms. A lot of people are still on dm 1.0 because it is so good.
YES!!!!!1 awesomeness
