MotoCache1, thanks for doing this. Just did it on my FRG22D stock Droid and it worked like a charm, got my root back. You're awesome!

Do not unzip the MotoCache1_Complete_Root_v1.1-update.zip file that you downloaded in Step 5 of "things you're going to need". You need to copy this file to the root of your phone's SD card and then rename it to update.zip.

how do i copy this file to my sd card and do i do this now or go to step 4 my english isnt good and i dont understand

    10. The SBF install goes fine, but when I go to apply the update.zip file in SPRecovery I get this error:
    E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
    (No such file or directory)
    Installation aborted.
Your update.zip file is not on your SD card or is named wrong. Read step #3 of the detailed procedure carefully. You've probably named the file update.zip.zip because Windows is configured to hide your file extensions.

For whatever reason some folks really struggle with this (I don't know why). If this is you, you could either try reconfiguring Windows not to hide file extensions (which I recommend), or you could use ADB to transfer your files (brief instructions here, use Google if that's not enough).

Do i just reboot my phone connect to a pc try to re insert the file and reboot back to recovery and try again

    Thumbs up

    Howdy Motocache,

Thanks for the straight scoop on rooting.

I was already rooted, but not having SPRecovery in place. So with the second FRG22D update, I lost root. Now missing my root goodies, I simply followed your instructions of getting SPRecovery on my droid, and your rooting image.
    I am happy
Droid 1 backup phone, FRG22D Rooted, and working great.

I am going to try out the dropbox in your link.
note: the only thing that you might want to mention is the fact that when you have the droid connected via usb, it auto powers on, so when you do choose shutdown, be ready for holding down the X button.
    ~~Later Mike
