Motocache, you da man! I d/loaded the FRG22D and it hosed my root previously obtained by EasyRoot. Following your simple instructions, I'm now rooted again, but correctly this time. Keep up the awesome work!

Got whacked by the 22D OTA today, I let it go figuring Clockwork would catch it, but fail: lost root. 10 minutes and back to SPRecovery since I had RSD lurking. Love the tiny scaled down SBF and zip. Blink, done.

Is this the first reported case of CW failing to block the install, or is CW really that easy to bypass? SPRecovery blocks it fine...

Well, "enigma" is one word for it...

I was considering "upgrading" to Windows 7 but I think I'll stick with XP and just run "7" in a virtual machine if I want to play with it.

I just completed this and it worked great. I tried it yesterday but had some problems, but was able to do it tonight.

I am now rooted with frg22d!

OK, I know it's always this way with developers, but "it doesn't do it on my system".

Attached is a screen shot of RSDLite 4.7 on my shiny new Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) machine. I'm running it as a VM, but I can't see how that would matter since even Windows 7 doesn't know that the machine it is running on is virtual.

I have my file named normally and it's in c:\data\droid\SBF\. My Start button is ready and willing.

Maybe it's your version of RSD Lite, maybe it's a 64-bit thing, I dunno.

    Are you running Pro?

Since I have a Windows 7 machine now, the first thing I did was enable the freakishly-missing "Run" command on the Start Menu (why the heck would that be disabled by default?), and the second thing I did was undo the ineffable "hide file extensions" setting. For any of you that want to turn off "dummy mode" (as I call the default mode of hiding the file extensions in versions of Windows newer than NT 4.0), the attached screen shot should tell you all you need to know.

Details? It looks like either Vista or Win7, and it looks like you probably got the 730 error which is likely that it doesn't like your USB port or something. If you're on Vista/Win7 you can try RSD Lite 4.7 - some folks report success that route. My pat answer is "use Windows XP", but I know that's not convenient for everyone. You could always put on Cygwin and try sbf_flash, but if the issue is that your USB ports are no good (for this purpose) then switching to Cygwin with sbf_flash probably won't fix it.
