    Thank You for this

All I can say is, thank you very much! It took me a couple of trys to figure it all out, then the stark realization that I'm a complete idiot, but it worked none the less.

My biggest hangup was that I had saved the update.zip as a shortcut on my desktop. Once I went to the actual file and put it in, everything went perfect.

I really only wanted to make it a hot spot but now....

    Thanks again Motocache1

    Talking appreciation for your work

Thank you for this tutorial on rooting. I was able to follow your directions with ease and rooted my Droid--something I have never tried before.

    My camera has gone bad.
I have a warranty on my phone but need to unroot it back to stock to take in for repair.
What is the easiest way to do this? Just run the FRG83D update fiel that came from Verizon on should I unroot to stock 2.2 then apply the FRG83D update? Actually the FRG83D update is probably not necessary to get the phone fixed I just need to be unrooted....I assume.

I have ROM manager which has "Stock Images? It show a Verizon Droid 2.2 FRG01B.
Should I just load this one?

    Or better idea??
.....Net is where I am and Nathan is me.....

    Now:
    Motorola Droid RAZR - Verizon
Thanks to Droid RAZR Utility 1.81.... now Rooted
    Thinking about a new theme..

Found a good thread here with references to other "unrooting" threads.

I assume this works in going from rooted FRG38D. I plan on using "Rom Manger. It shows a stock image named "Verizon Droid 2.2 FRG01B".

So this "ROM Manager" route should work to get me back to stock 2.2?

I don't think that that method is very reliable.

    Rooted RazrMaxx
If being rooted isn't what broke the camera...
Why would you worry about un-rooting before you return the phone?

Yes. As far as I have heard, asurion doesn't care about rooting.
