google search widget won't flip keyboard

has anybody else noticed that the keyboard for the stock google search widget won't flip to landscape? i like the widget because it also has the voice recognition search button but it is sometimes difficult to use the portrait mode keyboard.

are there any settings for this widget? is there another better google search widget?

I discovered this same thing today on my Droid. I also discovered that that little widget can play havoc with the screen. I'm thinking about getting rid of it and just using the hard button when I want to search.

Never used it but I know the hard button works great. And if you long press it it does voice search.
