    broken power button

I just upgraded to galaxy nexus yesterday. Never had any issue with my dinc for 2 years. Literally an hour after the change the dinc power button stopped working--if I plug the phone in or unplug it, the screen comes on so I can use it, but it is not very practical. I want to be able to give it to my wife.

Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

Might have to replace the button. Don't know of any way to make any other buttons the new power button.

Same thing happened to my wifes Dinc, after a factory reset, battery pull, and rooting it it mysteriously started working again - I flashed one of Mik's ROM's on top just in case it happens again (the trackball can double as a power button)

Dgb are you rooted? If so I can send you an apk that would assist with this.

    No, it's not rooted.

I pulled the battery and now cannot power it up because the only way I know how to do it is with the power button. Anyone know how to work around this?

I brought it in to a repair place and they say they can't replace the button because it's soldered to the motherboard.

    AAARRRGH!

    Appreciate any help.
