    Usb and memory card support please

    My phone has stopped reading my memory card and USB I don't have access to ADB (I do have an older pc with no internet I got the basic SDK tools on it) I'm on stock 2.2 ROM with S off I have a recovery though and don't care if I have to root to solve the issue, I just don't know any way to fix the usb and SD card issue without ADB. I was wondering if formatting the drive would help as I know their is undoubtedly a prob with the partition somewhere but I don't know how you go about doing such a thing. I'd really really appreciate any help I've been racking my brain for weeks, I have a few log reports if it helps. I hear that flashing the firmware again will help and id really like to try but where do I find the right firmware and how do I apply it at this point...do I just make a PB31IMG.zip to flash it?
