I touched Lord Stanley's Cup on 1/2/11.
This worked for me, yay and I found this Before I tried the factory reset, double yay..I agree Thank You...Thank you.and joyous blessings upon you![]()
I am trying to follow the work around on the Droid Incredible - txt stopped being able to be received but can be sent out.
After you went to settings > Applications and checked off "Unknown Sources" what did you do next exactly?
There was a hotfix that you applied to the phone yes? Where did you get that and how did you get it on your phone?
Sorry to be a bother.. but I want to do a happy dance too.. its awful not being able to get txt msgs
Appreciate your time
Karyn
Hi as you stated I changed the setting too allow unknown sources. I then clicked the link on this thread (that doesn't seen to be here any more)and it just automatically installed the patch. After a restart all my texts for a whole week just came in and the problem was fixed. Ironically about two Weeks after that my poor incredible fell victim to a glass of milk or I would send you the file it downloaded.
I'm very sorry, I don't understand why this is happening to so many people and there seems to be no official answer or fix.
I had planned to see if I can hook up my incredible to my PC to salvage some pictures off it. I suspect its the screen that is damaged as the phone still turns on, sounds notifications and alarms. If I can find the file it downloaded I well email it to you.
I got the link from:
[IMG]I called HTC support and got a fix for the text messaging problem! Go to settings/ then applications and check the box to receive from unknown sources, then go to dl3.htc.com/misc/inc8049.apk when you hit enter its gonna download a thing called hot fix, and after a couple mins your texts should all flood in!

THANK YOU!! I started having this problem yesterday and called tech support this morning and they tried everything and told me to reset my phone. Thats a last resort for me because I wanted to search the forums first. Thanks again!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Ugh I could not find any answer anywhere else. So I now I get texts, does anyone know how to resolve the low space icon issue? I have had that thing for a while now. My phone will cease, etc. I have tons of space available on both my phone and SD card, so IDK what that's about. Any suggestions? I do not want to lose my data. Pls help. I've deleted a, ps but that isn't the issue. I read online that it could be an issue with the 2.3.4 gingerbread and there could be a patch??? But I have not found any solution.
Thanks all!
There's threads on this forum addressing the low memory issue. Seek & ye shall find.

This issue just started for me tonight and after reading through this thread, it looked to be an issue with the phone. I'm having this issue. it just started tonight, but I have a Droid X2, not an Incredible... Called in and the tech support told me to take it into a store...
