Backup HTC Kernel

I'm rooted and I'm planning on trying a few different custom kernels but I'd like to have a backup of my stock HTC kernel before I do.

Is there a .zip file that I can download from somewhere or a way that I create my own backup of JUST the kernel that I can flash if I need to go back? I realize that I can always use my clockwork recovery to restore but I was hoping that there might be a slightly less extreme option.

I've found that site to be useful. There's a link to download the stock kernel there. I'm running custom ROM and kernel now and haven't tried going back to stock.

if you use clockwork, i believe you can back up your boot partition
