About LinkBacksI've seen a ton of people talking about "rooting" their droid. Can anybody actually tell me what this means?
Will I get better apps?
Will my battery be better?
Will my phone be faster?
How hard is it to root your phone? And I have a warranty through Best Buy. Will rooting my phone void my warranty? And could I reverse rooting my phone if it messes up so I can get my warranty back? Or if I don't like it?

Rooting will void you warranty. And you can unroot to get it back, I believe.
It isn't hard at all. Unrevoked works for the Incredible.HTC Incredible>Droid2>DroidX>HTC Thunderbolt>Back to Droid X>Droid 3>Prime?

05-23-2011 06:58 PMJust my 2 cents. Rooted my phone. Worked 10x better. Removed the bloat. Froyo comes out. Could not upgrade. Have to restore phone exactly to original software and file structure or android won't upgrade. I couldn't do that because my phone wouldn't talk with my pc for some reason. A common problem with some phones. Luckily Verizon sent me a refurb under warranty. It upgraded 1st try. Not rooting again. If have another problem want support. Tons of people root though. Tons of advantages. Good luck whatever you decide.
