Ringtones Change While Connected to Computer

When I am not at home or the Droid isn't plugged into my computer, all my custom ringtones work properly. Once it's plugged in, it reverts to the default. I have a folder on the phone for ringtones, but the custom ones don't show as an option. I have some that I made with Ringdroid and some that I made with myxer.com. As I said, if the phone isn't plugged in, the custom ones are used.
Is there a way to make it not go back to the default ringtones?

Do you have USB mounted when you are plugged in? If so then that is why they won't play, the phone can't access the MicroSD while its mounted to be used by a computer.

I had this issue a while back with my alarm.

Even if the ringtone folder is on the phone? or should I not mount the phone or card on the drive?

If you have the phone plugged in but not mounted, does it still work revert to the default tones?

I never thought about it before, I just unmounted it, we'll see.

As long as the phone isn't mounted on the computer, the custom ringtones will work. Just have to remember that in the future.
