    Is an extended battery worth it?

    Hi all,

    My brothers birthday is coming up soon. He currently has a Droid Incredible and likes it but complains about the battery. He doesn't use it a whole lot because of this. I see over at vzw site they have an extended battery there. (Set Your Location)

    I'm thinking of getting one for him as a BD gift. It's only $49 and if it makes his phone more useful to him I'm all for that.

    So is it worth it? How does it affect the overall size of the phone?

    Totally worth it. It makes your phone a little wider but most people like the extra width. Any case he has on the phone will no longer fit, however, unless he has a silicone case (which you can easily cut the back out of). I think it would make an excellent gift.

    I would highly recommend using the authentic OEM battery from Verizon. You pay more but get what you pay for. A lot of the after-market batteries sold on Ebay and Amazon don't hold their charge nearly as well.

    Just as an update. Got the battery for his birthday last week. With the exception of the two updates he hasn't had to plug his phone in.

    He really likes it!
