the superuser permission thing
I've rooted my phone using the superuser file, but I never noticed any prompts asking for permission when I ran an app that needed root.
I installed the "superuser whitelist" program from the market and noticed it gave me the prompt for such things, but it usually locks up an app when requesting access,so after granting it access I have to force close the app and run it again.
When messaging the dev about the issue, he said "doesn't the droid already have this? itsfor android 1.6" so I was a bit confused since I never saw any prompts before downloading this app.
Also, I now can not uninstall the app (the uninstall button is disabled).
Anyone care to give some information or suggestions here? Has the superuser update exploit gave you guys the access prompt for rooted apps, or did you also need a market app to get this feature?

You are rooted with the old su, reroot and you will get a program that does the whitelist on the droid. It is built in.

For purely verification purposes, can you (or someone else) link to the file you used for rooting that enabled this?

The initial pop-up asking for root for a given app will often cause the app to FC, just allow root and check the remember box, then restart the app and it should open with root no problemo.

I have superuser zip installed even see the icon but it does not appear on my main applications list and also I have no nandroid recovery menu. any idea why this is not appearing under apps or why nandroid does not appear either?

I did the same thing, and can't get that darn Icon off my main menu and there is no option for uninstall in the settings - applications. Does anyone know???

If the icon is still there then you are still rooted.

Before rooting you REALLY should thoroughly understand what your doing. Nandroid doesn't just come on it's own. Nandroid is the recovery image you flash on to your phone using certain files. And superuser isn't really an app, per se, so it's not going to appear so you can uninstall. Superuser you put on your phone using the update.zip, which puts it in to the system folder, as opposed to data folder which is where normal apps go, which is why you can't uninstall it normally.
