Status 7 error + sbf file please

like me, your probably new and have no experience with any of this so your simply following tutorials to get things done

however i'm just posting solutions as i find them.

So if you are getting the Status 7 error and it wont let you install update.zip file or your stuck at the Motorola icon upon launch:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BHHR6AFT (2.01 stock)
    - if your looking for a 2.2 sbf you can get it through a rescue squad members signature, just click rescue squad files.
(thanks to them, i wasn't aware the D1 could even support 2.2 till today)
this is a WORKING .sbf file

the only downside being for some reason it takes out the backup files so you can't make a nandroid. Which after reading forums upon forums is a very important thing. So if anything its a temporary sbf file.

now to make use of it:
    - plug your phone into your computer via USB
    - turn phone on (plugged in) holding up on the D pad
    this will enter bootloader.

    - Now open RSD lite and click your device
    - click ... beside the search box.
    - find the sbf file you just downloaded, i recommend you save it to either your C drive or Desktop for easy finding. (You can move it later)
and hit start. Now it might say Fail at the end but it will still work. If your not satisfied with the Fail, go to android labs and theres a guy who made a tutorial on how to do it the exact right way. But either way if you did what i did and couldn't get past the Motorola icon or the recovery screen, this will:
    - Let you install Update.zip
    - Let you get past the Motorola launch icon
and above all, give you peace of mind knowing you didn't brick your phone

This forum has saved me from so many issues so im just trying to do the same

Ok one last question then i'll leave you alone
theres like 6 different sbf files :/
care to point out which one and then i'll be in RSDlite in no time
My understanding is not to even mess with the root until i have it

Well after getting sidetracked for a few hours i flashed the new sbf from your signature. However for some reason, even after following the RSDlite how to guide i'm still getting a flashprocessfailed >100pct>FAIL. it dosen't affect anything as far as i can tell. HOWEVER my backup option is still missing from my recovery boot menu, so is thier another way to make a nandroid..Judging from what i've read its best not to change anything without a backup

Try this sbf / tutorial, it just flashes the recovery & root:
Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version
    I touched Lord Stanley's Cup on 1/2/11.
