Your correct. I just went back to the previous version simply because ROM Manager was not backing up. Once I went backwards using Astro backup started again. Am currently running BB V5. Sure am thankful for the Astro application feature.

I dont ever use ROM manager, I do everything manually to avoid mishaps.

You need to do a SBF recovery and start over, this is assuming you actually cant clear data/cache and reload a backup in recovery mode.

Sounds like clockworkmod recovery is not installed.

Try (in Rom Manager) flashing the alternate recovery then when that completes flash clockworkmod recovery back to your phone. You may want to clear download cache before trying to flash clockworkmod so that it downloads it again.

Clockworkmod recovery when flashed should only take 1-2 seconds to return (successful), otherwise it's not really successful (even though it says it is). Now this is the time it takes after it's downloaded. I always flash it again immediately after to test...1-2 seconds...it's good. 5+ seconds and it's not really there.
