    Volume Buttons Modification: Long Press to Skip Track

    I was wondering if anyone is out there that would be able/willing to do this.

    The idea is simple. Have some kind of hack that installs on your phone that makes it so that when you are playing music, and you long press up on the volume it skips to the next track or long press decrease volume to restart or go backwards through tracks.

    I know there was something like this in UD 1.0.0. but it never actually worked on my phone. It would also be great if this were ROM-independent.

    Also, there is an app out there called "search2play" (i think it was featured on the home page here) which remaps the camera button, which i never used anyway, to be a play/pause button. I was thinking this might be helpful as a base for writing a new program as this is kind of a similar thing. With that app you just open it, click install, reboot your phone, and now your camera button functions solely as a play/pause button.

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. There are a lot of great minds on here so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks.

    Works perfect on SS4.9. No skipping. Would be nice to be Rom independent though.

    Works on CM6.1 RC3, which IMO is by far the best ROM out there.

    Won't find many options elsewhere that aren't on CM and they seem to be constantly updating.

    Haha I would ask over in the CyanogenMod IRC. Those guys are very smart when it comes to this stuff, not that anyone one here is stupid but their forum is a lot less "newb friendly".

    I could be wayyy off here, but I would assume it was the CM team that came up with this modification. If I'm wrong, sorry, and try to contact the Dev that first incorporated this feature.
