This is a discussion on Any news on custom ROMs? within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; It's been around a week since the droid was rooted and I was wondering if there is any ongoing projects in making ROMs....

    Any news on custom ROMs?

    It's been around a week since the droid was rooted and I was wondering if there is any ongoing projects in making ROMs.

    Nope. No one's working on it. No news. I don't thin k anyone's interested in making any roms anyway. If you want one you should probably get crackin.

    Seriously, as soon as there's a rom out you'll see 10 new threads about it in the general forum and another 10 in the hacks forum too.

    It seems as though the guys at Sholes are working on a custom ROM, they already loosely ported flan to the droid.

    I would never donate to ANYONE until they have actually created the ROM. That is just plain stupid. The guy who recently made the Blackrain iPhone jailbreak said he will NEVER ask for donations until he has released the jailbreak and IMO, that's the way it should be.

He wants to be able to further his custom ROM development for the DROID with his OWN DROID. If you guys read you will see that. Sorry if this sounds like I'm being a jerk. I am just trying to make sure you guys understand what is REALLY going on here.
    And as soon as he releases a ROM for the Droid, I would be happy to donate. Until then, I don't think it's right to ask for donations.

    The thing is, there won't be a Rom for the droid until he has a droid. He needs the droid to further development instead of bricking someone elses droid. The donation is for him to get a droid to test on. And he has a very good track record with the G1 and mytouch 3g.
