new Kouch's bootstrap and installing Roms -help

brief summary. Droid 2-Verzion-Froyo 2.2- Rooted.

I've purchased the NEW Kouch Bootstrap from the app market, but im still having difficulty install a ROM.

Here is what i Tried

2. Download the .zip and placed it on your sdcard.
3. Made a backup.
4. Mount
5. Install .zip from [COLOR=#812528 ! important][COLOR=#812528 ! important]sdcard[/COLOR][/COLOR]
6. Say yes
Custom ROM installed fine- NO errors
7. Reboot

It reboots to the original OS. there is no change, what am i doing wrong.
Do i need to delete the old Froyo OS before new rom install?

Wipe data and cache
