About LinkBacksSo, just for gits and shiggles I decided I would try to boot Android x86 on my dell...
Started out running Mac OSX at about 10pm tonight
By 11pm I had Ubuntu 10.4 netbook remix running
and by 1am I had Ax86
so here is the vid:
sorry for the ****ty qualitty but its late and I am tired.. plus it was dark in here and I used the crappy video cam on my droid (minilolz)
SUPER IMPRACTICAL and pretty damn ugly at that screen res but I did it and I had fun!
as you can see in the vid, Internet works... you can change backgrounds, adjust settings... haven't gone through it totally yet... I am tired but. more to come within the week. I'll keep you guys updated.

10-01-2010 10:15 AMI do! I have an HP Mini whatever model had the nVidia ION graphics. Was wondering if it would be possible to boot this up? For that matter, aside from a touch screen, to get it to boot up due to the nVidia ION graphics and non-Intel graphics? I would love to dual boot this and Ubuntu Netbook Remix on my little netbook.

It's OK for your Droid to be different. Just be supportive and reassuring and it will do just fine. It's when you or other people point at it or mock it for being different is when its' feelings get hurt. Just show it unconditional love regardless of its' differences and it will in turn reciprocate that love and loyalty. -

10-01-2010 11:28 AMjust give it a shot... you can run the x86 from your disk drive/usb without fully installing to HDD so there is no harm in trying it out... check here:

10-17-2010 01:41 PMhaha wow. I would LOVE to have an install iso if you have one? I didnt really know it was possible. My mini 9 sets in my closet and has no love. I would love to play around with it. Do you have an install iso? I read through some of the stuff and it seems no sound is working on the androidx86 on the mini 9? is this true? Is it froyo or eclair? Im excited a little. How is the battery life with the os?

10-17-2010 07:22 PMwell i managed to get androidx86 eclair 2.1 u1 installed.
things ive noticed. if anyone has a fix please let me know.
after reboot settings (keyboard,wifi settings, stock browser favorites) revert back to the way when i first installed the os.
**way i found around this** installed launcher pro keeps my widgets and the like intact. dolphin HD keeps my favs that i save even after reboot.
keyboard and settings still revert back after reboot.
No sound. at all. This is a known issue with the eclair 2.1 for the mini 9. if anyone knows how to remedy this please let me know.
Battery life is lots better over the xp install.
No market obviously. dropbox is the remedy.
wifi works
mouse is strange to use with android. (have to click,hold,drag A LOT.
please let me know if anyone knows of or has a froyo build i may test. -
