    Heres my guide

OK so for whatever reason you want to UN-ROOT your phone? Here's the steps I followed to restore my phone to back to a 2.0.1 un-rooted state.
    1. First prep yourself by going on to Android Market and getting a terminal emulator. This will be needed to remove the Superuser.apk application (i.e. the superuser ninja in your application tray)
    2. Next go here Important Files | Sholes and download "Original 2.0.1 update". Rename or save this file as update.zip.
Now let the fun begin. This will essentially be the same as the original poster's video only with the download that you did in step 2 above and additional step.
    1. Turn your ROOTED DROID on if its not, plug and mount it from within windows.(esentially click the usb connection ongoing operation and "Select to copy...")
    2. Push the update.zip to your phone.
    3. Unmount and unplug your phone.
    4. Open the Terminal Emulator from the prep step 1. (I found that a few did FC's and tried 3 before one worked).
    5. When the Terminal Emulator is up type the following each on a line: (note if you are not familiar with Linux shell commands I suggest you open this in something that will show you spaces)
      Code:
      su
      mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
      cd /system/app
      rm Superuser.apk
      mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
      sync
      reboot
    6. This will remove the Superuser.apk and reboot your phone.
    7. When your phone reboots ensure that the Superuser application is gone from the application tray.
    8. Turn off your DROID.
    9. Slide open the QWERTY key board, press and hold the X key while powering on.
    10. When the triangle appears press volume up and the camera buttons together and a menu will appear.
    11. Select "apply sdcard:update.zip" from the menu by following the directions.
    12. Your phone will show some statuses and eventually the menu will re-appear (like when you rooted). Select reboot phone.
Congratulations you just removed the Superuser application and un-rooted your phone. You can verify that the ninja is gone, and that when you connect to the terminal emulator su access is denied. Hope this helps.

Typical legal mumbo jumbo: I am not responsible if you brick your phone, nor am I responsible for the files that you download. I am simply providing the steps that I have done to unroot my rooted phone.

Alright, I have successfully unrooted my droid, and removed the Superuser App. Now starting off, I was still rooted when I did this. I began be fixing all of the changes I had done from the beginning such as changing the names of all of the apps I did not want to start (CorpCal, Email, etc). So after everything went from *.bak to *.apk, I simply just removed Superuser.apk While I'm not sure if there are any other files associated with this, I'm not sure, but that got rid of it for me. Now if you have already unrooted your droid, you will have to root it again to get rid of it.

Once you get it rooted, to remove Superuser.apk i entered the following into the terminal emulator

    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    cd /system/app
    rm Superuser.apk
    mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    sync
    reboot

Now this worked for me, but i cannot assure it will do the same for you. Ill assume that I used the right commands because everything worked for me. After i removed Superuser.apk i then proceeded to unroot it by apply the 2.0.1 patch. After that I received Permission denied. A good sign for ones who want to unroot.

Let me know if there are any corrections/problems with my method
totally lost type this comands in and it fails like wtf . i just want to unroot my droid i didnt had any files expect the superminsion thing and that is as far as i went. why all those commands.

So I was in the process of unrooting my Droid after installing Bugless Beast on it last night.

I downloaded the 2.0.1 zip from Sholes.info but when I went to upload it, it came up with two errors. One regarding my Alarm Clock and the other regarding Facebook.

I didn't changed the .apk file name on either of these two while I was running BB so what's the issue regarding me not being able to revert back to a stock Droid?

Edit: I also uninstalled Super User before I tried to run the 2.0.1 zip, in case that has anything to do with what I'm going to need to do to fix my problem.

    Thanks

Edit again for clarity: The failures I'm seeing are these....

assert failed: apply patch check (/system/app/alarm clock.apk (followed by a bunch of letters and numbers)
"face(followed by a ton of numbers and letters)
    E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
    Status 7
    Installation Aborted

Help!!! Ok so I'm having the same problem as the person at the top of this thread... I did tht same thing, downloaded a wack file and now I'm stuck in this awful rom. I've tried the unroot_update.zip file a number of times but the phone keeps saying tht no such file can be downloaded. Even though the file is in my SD card. Can someone please help me?!?! I would keep trying by myself but I don't wanna screw up my phone more and I'm reallyyyyyyy confused.
