    rooted droid + adfree, how?

    Hi,

I have a rooted 2.0.1 droid. I installed busybox into /system/xbin and all it's symlinks. I can su from the 'adb shell' interface.

Two questions for all you gurus :
    1. I installed adfree but it complains about not being able to get root access. Did I miss a step?

    2. When I try to 'su' from a terminal application I get the error
    Code:
su: uid 10065 not allowed to su
I'm guessing this is the limitation of the current hack -- that it can only be done through `adb shell` ?

Thanks for any info you can throw my way.

Root your phone with the method in the second post here: AllDroid.org - View topic - How to Root your Droid<<<ONLY
Worked for me. Uninstall adfree first, and then root, and then install it again after you root. =]

Ahh, thanks that did it guys.

For anyone else who stumbles onto this thread, realize that there are three different update.zip files on the "root" thread. Make sure you grab the one from 3-posts down :

I'm getting the java.io.EOFException exception when I try to update the adfree list... any ideas?

I found a way to fix it! Simply click on revert, reboot, then click on update and you'll be golden.
