You know I was thinking about this the other day. Obviously beyond my scope of knowledge but.. it could be possible to install a chip or something to give the oven wifi and some programming instructions. Then it could link into your network and you could control it with your droid thru a yet uninvented app.

Same with the house lights for that matter. <--- this one would probably be more popular I think.
house lighting app they have this for the iphone. i was listening to the radio one day and heard them talk about it. i guess it all depends on how your lighting is set up

    Thank you.
I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but where do you get the sense ui home app?

I just have the Beautiful Widgets app, and I found a theme similar to the sense ui app

This isn't really a hack, but it did take me about three hours to find it so I had to include it on the list

Ill show how it looks in a seperate post

I have a suggestion... next up, enjoy your phone. You worked hard to get it like you want it. Now have fun with it and show it off to your friends. Go destroy some iphones and get as many people as you can to convert to Droid Life.

I may be able to make some suggestions for making it faster. I downloaded something called cache cleaner which I believe is free. Empties most of your caches on your phone. On average I free up 5mb or so when I run it. I also limit my launcher to 3 screens and just make folders such as tools, games, etc. I have only 2 widgets, one is a weather widget simply called "news and weather". I only use it for weather. The other is setcpu to monitor temps and speeds however I have the refresh interval set either to passive or 240 seconds. I have had issues with turning the interval faster. The phone seems to run slower. I have also moved all my apps to the phone itself. That would be settings>applications>manage applications. Then go to "on sd card" tap the program you would like to transfer and in the resulting screen tap "move to phone". I have transferred everything to my phone with much improved results. Also try this: Install Launcher Pro or adw launcher and root the phone and then apply the hack to local.prop as follows:

If you use ADW or LauncherPro and if after using your browser, email or any other apps for awhile, then if you press the 'HOME' button, if it takes forever to redraw your home screen, and you are sick of that HORRIBLE LAG, then try this: In a terminal, type su and enter. Then type echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 >> /data/local.prop and enter. Then reboot. Now evaluate whether or not this fixes your lag. If you want to undo what this command does, simply remove that toggle from: /data/local.prop

And finally... If you use adw launcher go into it's settings>system preferences and turn "use screen cache", "wallpaper hack", and "system persistent" all on. Alternatively there is an option in launcher pro that say keep in memory or something like that which I think is similar to adw's "system persistent". This setting will lock the launchers in memory for almost instant access on demand. There are the things I have found that have really made android 2.2 fly. Tinkering is fun!

Let me know if anyone else finds this useful.

Hey could you point me to where you found about "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" ?
While I'm sick of my terribad lag, I would like to learn more about what that does before I go and try it

    Thanks!

You are supposed to get it the way you want it???????????????

I am sooooo doing this wrong...................Everytime I think I know what I want I learn or find something new and start all over.. I think I may have a problem.
Im either flashing roms /kernels/themes or being a dumba## with appinventor lol... I also have a really bad habit of downloading and trying every app lmao (not really) but really i have like 500 apps on my pc now ..(I usually archive them in sys panel and then move the archive to my pc when its full ..

I have no clue what I am doing but am poking every part of this thing that my stick will reach. I don't even care if my phone works I just wanna play with it lol.. Speaking of which I am so down to beta test anything...
