Dude,
Once you start using apps that require root, you will see entries for those permissions. When you first run a root App, you will get a permission screen. Once you allow, you will then see an entry with a plus sign when you enter the SU app. I have not found that you can do anything with the SU app other than delete previous permissions, and if you click on the line with the plus sign it just removes the permission. Will have to reallow permission for that ap once you run it again. No biggie. No additional functionality that I can find. At least this is what one newb has found.

The wiki the instruction are on is under construction, so nevermind the mess everywhere else.
Gaining root access - Droidipedia
In your YouTube video, why does your Droid look like it's manufactured backwards? Your D-pad is on the wrong side! And the slider is on the wrong side too. WTF? Did you mirror image the video footage?

coming from a rooted G1 i must say that has its ups and downs (more ups than downs though). I don't understand why we are saying it voids the warranty when all you have to do is unroot it if you have to send it in or anything like that (unless of course you completely screw it up while its rooted and can't gain necessary access to unroot it). The things they were doing over at XDA Developers with rooted phones was mad cool. completely customizing your system with newer ROMs, custom themes, and my personal favorite Apps 2 SD card. I have only read a couple cases of actually bricked phones. In most cases, someone on the forums was able to help someone out in a situation where they thought they were bricked.

Hah! I wonder if anyone else has noticed that. I used Photobooth on my Mac and apparently it's set to mirror. I actually did think it looked a little weird while I was recording, but since I was looking at the monitor upside down and backwards I figured I was crazy.
Anyway, now I know what it's like to be right handed.
-
yea i did, i just figured it was mirrored.

Why should it void the warranty?
Does having root or administrator access on a DELL PC void the warranty? Why should our mini linux computers be any different? Having root does not damage hardware.
If Verizon/Motorola choose not to honor valid warranty issues because of a rooted phone, it would be a disgraceful anti-consumer policy.
-
for people that root their phone wouldnt it be good to just be on the safe side and pay for the Verizon insurece? then you dont have to worry abouot the warentee or bricking... right?
-
true...... warranty is goooooood. Im on my 3rd one from not knowing what im doing with root!!!!!
